Blackberry Desktop Software Download
On August 30th 2015, BlackBerry will disable wireless software updates for BlackBerry smartphones running BlackBerry OS 7.1 and earlier.
Note: This change will have no impact on BlackBerry 10 OS smartphones or the related infrastructure.
After August 30th, 2015 devices running BlackBerry OS 7.1 and earlier can use either of the following methods to update their device software:
- Visit blackberry.com/update (see Article 16071)
- Use BlackBerry Desktop Software (see Article 3621)

Note: A connection to a computer is required to use either of these update methods.
BlackBerry 10 devices can continue to be updated over the wireless network.
